Choose and Assemble a Piece of Furniture

Model selection

When selecting a piece of furniture, WE MUST CONSIDER SEVERAL ASPECTS, FIRST THE WIDTH WE HAVE AVAILABLE, AND SECOND THE DEPTH.

Once we are clear about which furniture measurements fit our bathroom space, we can select our bathroom furniture based on a series of characteristics that we like the most.

The first big question we should ask ourselves is whether we want a wall-mounted bathroom cabinet or one with legs on the floor. Advantages of wall-mounted cabinets: a more modern look, a greater sense of spaciousness in the bathroom, ease of cleaning the bathroom, and installation at our preferred height.

Many times, this type of furniture raises doubts or fears about whether it might come loose, but it should be noted that if the wall is solid and it is anchored with the correct anchors, there will be no problem. In fact, nowadays, they are the most commonly installed, and we could think that, for example, all the tall kitchen cabinets that support much more weight are wall-mounted, and no one is afraid of them.

We might only have reservations about installing a wall-mounted cabinet if our wall is made of plasterboard and the builder has not installed the mandatory metal plate behind the plasterboard panels in the area of the bathroom cabinet; in that case, we recommend putting a cabinet with legs.

Advantages of a cabinet with legs: greater storage capacity, easier installation.

Things to keep in mind

Every piece of furniture comes with instructions inside, please read them before starting the installation. Wall-mounted furniture is usually installed at a height of 90cm, although we can always vary that height based on our preference and the height of the users, for example, if they are very tall or conversely, if we have small children at home.

Each wall-mounted piece of furniture can support approximately 120kg per hanger, which totals 240kg per piece. It is important to consider the drainage when choosing and installing the furniture, ensuring it is as close as possible to the siphon of the sink, although all our furniture has a free space of about 6cm between the furniture and the wall to accommodate plumbing installation.

Furniture with large drawers allows for better access to the items we have stored at the back, but we must consider the height of the drawers, as in many cases it may not be sufficient to store tall bottles upright; in those cases, they can be stored lying down, or if we do not want to lay them down, we would need to choose a model with at least one door.

All our furniture has drawers with different types of adjustments that allow for both horizontal and vertical alignment of the drawer front for a perfect installation.

Both the Hettich drawer slides and the door hinges are soft close, which ensures that the drawers and doors open and close smoothly, conveying a sense of quality in the furniture.

All our furniture is splash-resistant, but they are not designed to be in constant contact with water as they may swell.

Terminology

The siphon trap is nothing more than a cavity shaped like a horseshoe that the upper drawers of bathroom furniture have, to prevent them from bumping into the sink siphon.

Hand of opening: when we say that a door is left-handed, it means that the door opens to the left and that the handle is on the right. We recommend that if our module has left-handed doors, it should be placed on the left side or even in the central part. A full-extension drawer means that when the drawer is opened, it fully extends, leaving the entire useful part visible.
